cosmetic laser skin treatments in napier hawke's bay, by a doctor

Where medicine meets modern skincare

Lasers are everywhere, but here’s the difference: at DermMedica, your treatment is done by an actual doctor.

We’re a GP-led cosmetic laser clinic in Hawke’s Bay, using advanced K-Laser blue light technology to treat sun damaged skin, pigmentation, benign and vascular lesions and other cosmetic skin concerns safely and effectively.

It’s skin care with a medical heartbeat - serious about safety, confident of results.

The DermMedica difference

Skin science…safely.

  • Doctor-led, always. Every zap, pulse and pass of the laser is done by Dr Agata Kesy, a GP with real-world experience identifying and treating skin cancer.

  • Next-level tech. Our triple-wavelength K-Laser treats and heals at the same time. It’s clever, gentle and ridiculously precise.

  • Safety over shortcuts. Your health and safety comes first. Anything that looks suspicious gets flagged for referral or biopsy.

  • Honesty without the hype. We’ll tell you what’s realistic, what’s safe and what’s worth it - no hard sell, ever.

What we treat

Benign Lesions

For the little things you don’t love but don’t need to worry about.

  • Moles (benign only, after assessment)

  • Seborrheic keratoses (wart-like growths, also called senile warts)

  • Skin tags

  • Cholesterol deposits (xanthomas) on eyelids

  • Milia (small white cysts often around eyes or cheeks)

Vascular Lesions

Targeted treatment for visible red or purple marks caused by small surface blood vessels.

  • Venous lakes (dilated blood vessels on lips)

  • Cherry angiomas (red dots/bumps)

  • Spider nevi (a tiny red spot with fine blood vessels)

Pigment Reduction

Gentle fading of unwanted pigmentation on the face, neck, chest and hands.

  • Sun spots / age spots

  • Freckles and uneven tone

  • Sun-damaged skin on face, neck, chest or hands

Pigmentation may lighten or fade significantly, but ongoing sun exposure can cause it to return. Maintenance treatment is sometimes required annually.

DermMedica uses the K-laser machine for cosmetic skin treatments including pigmentation, mole removal, sun damage on the face and hands in napier

The K-Laser advantage

Meet the overachiever of lasers.
The K-Laser Blue Derma uses three wavelengths - blue, red and infrared - to treat surface marks, deeper tissue and provide healing all at once. It’s fast, gentle and medically precise, with minimal downtime and maximum results. Many conditions can be successfully treated in a single session, others require follow up or an annual refresh.
DermMedica is one of only a few New Zealand clinics able to offer the K-Laser advantage and the only one in Hawke’s Bay.

Dr Agata Kesy is a cosmetic skincare laser specialist based in Napier, Hawke's Bay treating pigmentation, benign lesions, mole removal and sun damage

“My goal is to offer safe, effective solutions for common skin concerns - the kinds of things people often want removed for comfort or confidence, but that should always be assessed by trained professional first.”

— Dr Agata Kesy

The Reassurance of a Doctor

Dr Agata Kesy is a skin cancer GP with advanced training in dermatology. She brings the science and safety of medical practice to laser skin treatments, helping patients feel confident their care is in expert hands.

We don’t promise miracles, we promise medical honesty.
Some pigmentation can return with UV exposure, and darker skin tones or conditions like melasma aren’t suitable for laser treatment.

Every decision at DermMedica is guided by patient safety, not sales, and because we have the experience to detect potentially dangerous skin conditions, we’ll never proceed with cosmetic treatments until skin cancer is ruled out.

Honesty First

We’re not a beauty clinic, and we don’t do fillers or fairy-tale promises.
Some pigments and vessels are stubborn, and certain skin types (like melasma or darker tones) aren’t suitable for laser. Dr Kesy will always be upfront about what’s safe, what’s achievable, and what isn’t.

The Process

Dr Kesy will discuss your concerns at your initial consult and give you an indication of session duration, frequency, healing downtime and cost. Most treatments are minimally invasive and take between 5 days and 4 weeks to heal, depending on the treatment and individual variations. All pigment treatments include complimentary numbing cream and aftercare cream. Mole removal is performed under injected local anaesthetic, although some patients tolerate the procedure comfortably without anaesthetic.

Consultations can only be booked online and are performed on Saturdays only.

The Cost

Some concerns such as venous lake and mole removal are easily treated in one 15-minute session ($150). Other treatments such as whole-face pigmentation and redness can require up to three one-hour sessions (around $1500 total). Approximate prices for other common conditions include facial veins ($250 per 15mins) and pigmentation on both hands ($900). All treatments require a brief follow-up appointment ($85) to review healing and administer a final touchup if needed. All prices include GST.

Life leaves its mark. Sun, birthdays, babies, beach days... it's all part of the story.

If there are a few chapters you'd rather edit, we're here to help. Safely, honestly and with the reassurance that every treatment is backed by medical expertise - not just cosmetic experience.
